In an effort to improve internal IT operations INX partnered with VMware and NetApp to virtualize INX's data center. Utilizing VMware vSphere and vCenter, INX was able to virtualize all applications and downsize from a data center of physical servers to ESX virtual-machine hosts. The result is a streamlined datacenter for INX that has reduced consumption and provided for a near 100 percent uptime for mission-critical applications with easier management, faster provisioning and lower cost. Even more importantly, virtualization has allowed INX to serve as a working example for clients who are considering virtualization within their own organization. NetApp has partnered with Cisco and VMware to create the Flexpod reference architecture for data centers.
